Player summary:

RS JR and 3-year full-time starter at WR, where he plays both outside positions in WVUN’s air attack. He has elite length, great weight and marginal speed with quality length, a lean frame, good reach and powerful legs. He is an average athlete who displays a combination of strong explosiveness and balance, average COD, acceleration, lateral quickness and agility with typical top-level game speed. Against the presser, he shows good play strength, UOH and physical toughness against the CB, with enough size and length to get over the jam and get loose. Against the zone, he shows strong football intelligence to find the soft spot in coverage. He is a solid route runner who runs a route tree consisting of go, curve, come back, slant, dig and exit when breaking off the stem. He has above average hands as he has quality manual dexterity that allows him to have a very good catch radius that allows him to catch the ball with his hands away from his body. He shows good ability in contested catch situations as he uses his elite size to pick off a strong AA, CB with size and ball skills as he positions himself to high up the ball and make the catch. He shows quality body control as he does a very good job adjusting his body to make the catch on low passes. He shows average awareness by keeping his feet inside while chasing down the sideline. He is a solid run blocker who shows a willingness to block, uses his very good length with good UOH and play strength to maintain his block against the CB with his usual physicality and less shutdown ability. Shows good mental toughness when he steps to the line with the game. Regular AA prevents him from separating from the CB outside of a guy with good football intelligence, AA and COD if they read his route and can stay in phase with him. A lack of quality game speed prevents him from consistently gaining significant YAC.

A suitable scheme:

XWR in air attack.

Power of attorney:

Strong, intelligent, big-bodied WR with elite size and quality length that allows him to win 1-on-1 situations against regular-sized CBs with average game speed. Compensates for below average game speed with very good contested catching ability. A lack of quality AA and game speed prevents him from separating off-man and consistently gaining significant YAC.
