A survey conducted by online firm LocalCircles has found that at least 76% of Indians own air conditioners. should be done by the manufacturer or service company due to the high cost, difficulty of the welding process and time.

Climate change is important in the face of global warming and the depletion of India’s non-renewable energy resources. Refrigerators contain heaters that are also found in refrigerators and freezers. These refrigerants contain CFCs that deplete the ozone layer in our atmosphere.

According to available data, the Indian residential AC market is estimated to be around 5 million units per year.

Sales are likely to beat all expectations as India grapples with a prolonged heat wave. Temperatures in the national capital and many cities in the north, northwest and major cities of India are between 44 and 50 degrees Celsius this summer.

24% of Indian homes have air conditioning or air conditioning and most of them are in Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Uttarakhand among other states. . About 40% of households have ACs and refrigerators in urban areas and 16% in rural India.

LocalCircles conducted a survey to understand the AC service habits of Indian households. The survey received responses from 42,000 respondents from 302 districts of India. 65% of the respondents are male and 35% of the respondents are female. 42% of respondents came from level 1, 29% from level 2, and 29% of respondents from level 3, 4 and rural areas.

The study found that 2 out of 3 consumers say that the service arm of the air conditioner manufacturer costs 50% or more when compared to local dealers to provide service or repairs.

Those surveyed also stated that high cost is the number one reason why consumers do not keep air conditioners offered by the manufacturer or company.

The findings indicate that 65% do not care for their air conditioner because of the manufacturer or company because of the “High price”, 36% said it was because of the “Difficult contact process”, and 32% said “It run out of time”.

Consumers want the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to issue standards for AC service. They want the BIS to issue guidelines and regulations for after sales services of whitegoods customers and CCPA to issue regulations that ensure timely redressal of service grievances.

The second step that is needed here is the guidelines from the CCPA under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 that govern how the tools work, i.e. the response time for complaint response, case resolution, decision process and financial penalties if an AC manufacturer fails in the spare parts and service. during the warranty period.

Consumers were also asked to clarify the end-of-day service for high-priced consumer goods so that the consumer would know when purchasing a product how long the service would last and the prices supported by it. depending on the product.
