MANILA, Philippines – A total of 9,207 examinees completed the four-day 2022 bar exams on November 9, the Supreme Court Public Information Office said.

This is 92.01% turnout out of 10,006 candidates who participated in the selection of examination centres, the SC PIO added in a statement. Out of 10,006 candidates, 9,281 candidates are expected to appear for the bar exam, the SC said.

Candidates took the Political Law and International Law (with related tax principles) exam in the morning and the Labor Law exam in the afternoon.

The second day of bar exams is set for Sunday, November 13, for Criminal Law (Practical Exercises) and Commercial Law.

It will continue next week with Civil Law I and Civil Law II (with practical exercises) on November 16, Remedial Law I and Remedial Law II (with basic tax remedies) and Legal Ethics on November 20.

SC Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, Chairperson of the 2022 Bar Exams, said the first day went well and smoothly. “He is very happy and expects the same results in the remaining days of the bar exam,” added the SC PIO.

Caguiwa monitored the conduct of the bar examinations from the command center in the National Capital Region; Five of the 14 testing centers are in Metro Manila.

The SC PIO added that Caguioa also visited nearby testing centers like the Ateneo de Manila University, which has the highest number of examinees.

Other justices also joined in inspecting local inspection centers in Metro Manila.
