MUMBAI: Weeks after announcing that the upcoming summer 2022 exams will be held offline and online, Mumbai University has announced that the exams will begin from April 19, with TYBCom exams followed by TYBA and TYBSc exams from April 21.
The university has also finally clarified that all undergraduate final year semester six examinations for traditional courses will be conducted online this year.
“The University Board of Examinations has decided to conduct the examinations of professional courses offline and the traditional 6th (choice base) regular and backlog examinations of arts, commerce, science and self-help courses online and practical,” the MU released the syllabus on Friday.
“Final semester exams are very important for UG students and it is necessary to declare the results on time. “Covid and transport strikes across some parts of Maharashtra have forced many students to prepare for the exam online, so it makes sense to conduct the exams online,” said an examination board member.
MU has clarified that while regular and backlog examinations of session 6 (choice base) of traditional arts, commerce, science and self-help degree courses will be conducted online, practical examinations of sixth semester will be offline only.
MU released a statement on February 10 clarifying that the upcoming examinations for most courses and departments will be conducted offline in the summer of 2022.
The circular also states that UG Arts, Commerce and Science Semester 2 regular and backlog examinations will be conducted offline. Semester 1, 3 and 5 backlog exams will be conducted online. Semester 4 regular and backlog exams will be conducted online.
In case of PG examinations, Semester 2 and 4 regular and backlog examinations will be conducted in offline mode, while Semester 1 and 3 backlog examinations will be conducted online for all Commerce, Arts and Science courses. “The offline exams for PG students will consist of 50% multiple choice questions (MCQ) and 50% descriptive questions,” the statement highlighted.
Regular and backlog examinations of all batches of professional courses including management, technology, inter-faculty and management examinations for semesters 1 to 4 will be conducted offline, the university said.
