Arunachal Govt wants CBI to investigate all civil service exams since 2014 | Rare Techy

The Arunachal Pradesh government has decided to request the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe all examinations conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) since 2014 for possible irregularities.

This follows a meeting on October 31 between a high-level team led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and representatives of two influential student bodies, All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union and All Nishi Students Union.

The state government has been under pressure since August 28 after a candidate for the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) lodged a complaint at Itanagar police station about the question paper of the APPSC exam conducted on August 26 and 27. Leaked.

Two student organizations have demanded the immediate dismissal of the officials involved in the question paper leak and a re-examination of the APPSC. They also demanded an inquiry into all the examinations.

“Our government is seriously going ahead with cleaning up the system to ensure fool-proof exams for recruitment in government jobs,” Khandu said, adding that the CBI would be asked to scrutinize all exams conducted by APPSC since 2014.

The meeting between the Chief Minister’s team and the two student union leaders coincided with the demand to reopen the case of the candidates who appeared for the APPSC exam in 2017.

Candidates of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination-2017 had approached the court alleging irregularities in the selection process. “The investigation of the case that year was one-sided,” she said.

APPSC Chairperson Nipo Nabam resigned taking moral responsibility, followed by two of the four members – retired army officers. The police have arrested more than 10 people, including government officials, in connection with the incident.
