The written examination for the post of Grade II Police Constable was held at eight centers on Sunday amid tight security and strict supervision by senior officials.

The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board has conducted the examination for the candidates of Police, Jail and Fire and Rescue Services respectively.

9,624 were present and 2,017 were absent due to various reasons. After a detailed examination, the students were admitted to the exam halls which included Grace Engineering College, Kamaraj College and Subbaiah Vidyalaya.

The exam started at 10 am and ended at 12.40 pm

In Tirunelveli district, 14,442 candidates, including one transperson, were issued hall tickets, out of which 2,515 did not take the exam, officials said. Senior officials and a team led by DIG of Police Pravesh Kumar and SP Saravanan supervised the 16 centres. Police added that TNUSRB officials have also been deployed to supervise the arrangements at the centres.

In Tengashi district, 11,818 people got hall tickets while 1,986 people did not appear. The examination held at 10 centers was supervised by police officers led by SP Krishnaraj and others. The exam was also held in Kanyakumari district.
