Candidates Rejected Before Result Declaration Here’s Why | Rare Techy

As nearly four lakh candidates are now desperately waiting for their Assistant Section Officer (ASO) exam results, the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has shared an important update that will surely come as a shock to some of them.

Several candidates have alleged irregularities as they were caught cheating or found using unfair means in the written examination conducted for recruitment to the post of ASO.

According to the official notification of OPSC released on 1 November 2022, the candidature of 11 candidates was rejected due to various reasons. The OPSC notification mentioned the roll number of the rejected candidates and the reason for rejection. It said nine candidates were rejected for carrying mobile phones or Bluetooth devices during the conduct of the ASO written examination on August 27, 2022. The roll number of these students announced by the commission is as follows: 631615, 654610, 202501, 202189 , 311552, 619996, 620278, 686459, 609431.

Similarly, two candidates with roll numbers 503961 and 690565 respectively were rejected for tearing the OMR answer book during the written test on the same day.

OPSC had conducted the ASO exam on August 27 for 796 Group-B posts in Odisha Secretariat Service. As far as the results are concerned, OPSC Chairman Satyajit Mohanty had hinted that the written results of the ASO exam will be published most probably by the first week of November and the final result will be out by the end of the month.
