Cork students have been seen queuing at bars around the city since early this morning.
Dressed in tinsel and Christmas jumpers, hundreds of students lined up outside pubs from 7am as part of an unofficial ‘college Christmas’.
Students could be seen queuing outside Harp Bar since this morning.
A Paulduff Road pub reminded event-goers to be mindful of residents in the area.

Harp Bar wrote in a post on their Facebook page: “It won’t be long until the students return! Everyone try to stick to our queuing system and please be respectful of your neighbors.”
Live music started at the bar at 10:30am and continued into the evening.

Queues are forming outside CC Young’s pub in Bandon Road, Flannery’s Bar in Glasheen Road and others near College Road.
“After seven we are queuing here,” MTU student Ola Grubiak told The Echo.
“Everybody’s happy and it’s great to celebrate Christmas before getting down to Christmas exams.”
Another MTU student, Keeley Dalton, was queuing up to take part in a long-standing tradition in Cork.
“It’s a tradition to spend Christmas with your college family before you go home to your real family,” she said.
Unofficial Christmas Day is an annual event where students from UCC and MTU can be seen celebrating Christmas in the city before the term ends.
Sergeant Mick O’Connell spoke about the extra efforts to ensure the safety of students and residents.
“We have deployed additional resources for the day to monitor the event.
Sgt O’Connell also revealed that some pubs are planning to remain closed until this evening to limit queuing and not disturb locals.
As of midday, gardaí had not reported any problems caused by the event.
