Custom Ford E-Transit vans are available to meet growing demand | Rare Techy

Creative Bus Sales, the largest US bus and transportation service vehicle dealer, is partnering with Forest River Bus to meet the growing demand for zero-emission paratransit electric vans. Creative Bus Sales says 1,000 Forest River-customized Ford E-Transit EVs will be available by the end of 2022.

Zero-emission electric vehicles are rolling onto the market at a record pace, but it’s still not fast enough.

Electric vans and buses in particular are in short supply due to parts shortages due to ongoing supply chain bottlenecks, and even more so when it comes to paratransit EVs.

As a leading van manufacturer, Ford has contributed to the launch of the all-electric E-Transit. Customers began to publicize sales of the E-Transit in July 2022, announcing that the market share of electric vans is in demand at 95%.

Although several competitors have since released electric vans, demand for the Ford E-Transit remains strong, with 770 sold in October and a total of 5,157 in 2022.

At the same time, due to the limited supply of electric vans and the growing demand, organizations and municipalities are struggling to fill their fleets.

Several transportation groups took it upon themselves to write a letter to U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg highlighting the crisis and calling on the government to act. The letter read:

We need your help in getting a bigger chassis for the small bus market so
trips to vital healthcare facilities (e.g. dialysis); to gather eateries and grocery stores
stores; to work and education; and other social services that this type of buses
it is usually safe to continue serving.

Creative Bus Sales is working with Forest River to resolve a situation with custom Ford E-Transit vans.

The nation’s largest bus retailer says it has nearly 1,000 FTA-compliant Ford E-Transit EV vans available to help meet overwhelming demand.

According to the company, the Ford E-Transit uses about 40% fewer parts and labor to build the electric chassis, making it the perfect solution to the crisis.

TJ Matijevich, Vice President and General Manager of Creative Bus Sales, explains the benefits of the new partnership, saying:

We are pleased to offer the largest number of Ford E-Transit vehicles and provide a quick solution to an urgent need.

Creative Bus says it will significantly increase the availability of the customized Ford E-Transit until 2023, as Mr Matijevich adds:

This solution allows many organizations to introduce electrified vehicles to their fleets for the first time, without the need for extensive charging infrastructure or high costs. We see this as a turning point for many cities and companies that have not yet adopted electrified vehicles.

The custom Ford E-Transit features flexible seating that accommodates 12 passengers or up to two ADA-approved wheelchair positions. The custom electric van comes with a 5-year, 100,000-mile warranty and an 8-year battery warranty through Ford. Take a look at the specifications below.
