Farley made the comments at a press event to announce the deal between Ford and DTE Energy, the largest renewable energy purchase in U.S. history. The comment even prompted a response on Twitter from Musk, who said: “Thanks, but I already have it.

Tesla has gone to great lengths to start production of its all-electric pickup truck, the Cybertruck. Musk unveiled the Cybertruck in 2019, but production has been delayed. And now Tesla plans to launch the Cybertruck in 2023.

While Tesla still dominates the EV market, especially in the U.S., Ford certainly has the lead when it comes to electric pickups.

The Ford CEO’s recent comment about Elon Musk is different from what he said last year.

Farley praised Tesla in an internal meeting where he said, “No one does electricity better.”

Meanwhile, Ford Motor has raised the price of its electric pickup truck by thousands of dollars due to an increase in “material costs.”

The base model of the F-150 Lightning, called Lightning Pro, now starts at $46,974, up nearly $7,000 from $39,974 earlier this year.

The truck’s most expensive model, the Platinum Extended Range, costs $96,874, up $6,000.
