Ethan Horvath and Zack Steffen have earned starting roles in the English Football League Championship this season, and both are playing just in time with the FIFA World Cup just 19 days away.

Horvath and Steffen remained in goal for Tuesday’s league matches, helping their clubs earn positive results to kick off the November schedule. Horvath made three saves for Luton Town in a low-scoring draw with Reading, while Steffen made one in a 3-1 road win at Middlesbrough.

Steffen returned from his injury in September to reclaim the No. 1 job in Middlesbrough’s squad. The 27-year-old has won three of his last seven league matches, helping Michael Carrick’s side to 18th place.

Middlesbrough host Bristol City on Saturday before final first-half matches against Blackpool and Norwich City in four days’ time.
