After the University of Mumbai postponed the fifth semester exams following the demands of final year students, first year students have asked the university to postpone their exams that were to be held from November 22. The autonomous colleges of Mumbai University have scheduled final semester exams in December or later. “We need to ensure that we complete 90 days of proper education for our students,” said Wilson Rao, Controller of Examinations, Jai Hind College.

“The first-year students started college on August 10, which is a two-month delay and it is not fair for students to face exams before they get used to offline learning,” Hinduja College Principal Dr. Minu Madlani. told the daily. Principals of Mumbai colleges are trying to talk to varsity authorities to ensure that exam dates are postponed to complete the syllabus, she added.

Meanwhile, the final year semester exams, which were scheduled to begin from October 15, were later postponed. The students demanded MU to postpone the exams by a month and hold them after the Diwali break as they did not have enough time to prepare for the final exams.
