Frazier, Stills Make All-Big 12 First Team, Ford-Wheaton Second Team | Rare Techy

Despite West Virginia’s less-than-stellar season, the Big 12 still felt that several key players deserved credit for quality years.

Offensive lineman Zach Frazier, defensive end Dante Stills and wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton were added to the All-Big 12 team. Frazier and Stills earned first-team honors, while Ford-Wheaton was placed on the second team.

Frazier helped lead an offensive line that improved throughout the season and produced strong rushing performances from Tony Mathis, CJ Donaldson, Justin Johnson, Jaylen Anderson and even Garrett Greene when he started as a dual threat at quarterback.

While Stills’ numbers were down from his impressive year in 2021, the WVU defensive leader still totaled 26 tackles, including 13 solo tackles, and 4.5 sacks. He also broke the program’s all-time record for losses during the 2022 season.

Asti: Dante Stills’ legacy in West Virginia goes beyond numbers

As for Ford-Wheaton, who opted to opt out of his remaining year and declare for the NFL draft, he caught 62 passes for 675 yards and seven touchdowns in his final season as a Mountaineer.

Stills and Ford-Wheaton both accepted invitations to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl to prepare for the upcoming NFL Draft.
