GCMS Thanksgiving Tournament recap: Prairie Central wins title | Rare Techy

GIBSON CITY — Prairie Central won the championship game in the top 50th of the annual Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Appreciation Tournament Saturday.
The Hawks won the title game 63-42 over Iroquois West.
Dylan Bazzell, Camden Palmore and Tyler Curl scored in double figures for Prairie Central (4-0) with 15, 11 and 10 points, respectively. Drew Haberkorn scored nine points, Gage Steidinger and Levi Goad each added eight points.
Tyler Read scored 15 points for Iroquois West (2-2) and Sam McMillan also scored in double figures with 13 points. Bazzell, Goad and Haberkorn were all named to the all-tournament team along with McMillan and Iroquois West’s Cannon Leonard.
In the third place game, Lexington defeated Hoopeston Area 72-55.
Lexington (3-1) was led by Ethan Storm with 26 points, Griffin Hari added 16, Alex Thomas nine and Michael Olson eight. Owen Root led Hoopeston Area (2-2) with 13 points, while Trenton Montez and Mason Rush each had nine points.
Thomas and Hoopeston Area’s Anthony Zamora were both named to the all-tournament team.
In the seventh place game, Fisher defeated Tri-Punkt 50-36.
Jeremiah Todd led the Rabbits (1-3) with 16 points, while Asher Litman had 11 points. Nate Smith led Tri-Point (0-4) with 11 points.
