Goomalling bushfires: Emergency warning issued, DFES tells residents to evacuate homes | Rare Techy

A bushfire emergency warning has been issued for some parts of the Goomalling district, with authorities saying lives and property are at risk.
People living in the southern part of the town of Goomalling, about 130 kilometers north-east of Perth, are being urged to leave their homes as soon as possible.
“You are in danger and you must take immediate action to save yourself,” the Fire and Emergency Department’s announcement read.
“It’s a threat to lives and homes.”
The fire started near the intersection of Rossmore and McLean roads. It is moving to the east.

The emergency zone is bounded by Hulongine Road to the north, Goomalling Meckering Road to the east, Dwyer Road to the south and Anderson Road to the west,
Residents of the town of Goomalling are asked to remain vigilant and seal their homes.
“Close all doors and windows, turn off evaporative air conditioners but keep water flowing through the system if possible,” the DFES website says.
“Read your wildfire survival plan.”
