Illuminated floats illuminate the Ford Holiday River Parade for the San Antonio River Walk | Rare Techy

SAN ANTONIO – The holiday season is in full swing along the San Antonio River Walk this week as the Ford Holiday River Parade returns for its 41st year.
The parade takes place every year on the Friday after Thanksgiving. This year, this date falls on November 25.
The one-hour parade, which starts at 6 p.m., will feature lighted floats and costumed parade participants.
During the parade, 28 lighted floats travel a 4-mile route under more than 100,000 River Walk lights.
The grand marshal of this year’s Ford Holiday River Parade will be none other than the cynical Christmas boy, the Grinch.
The theme is “Tastes and traditions around the world”.
Parade officials previously told KSAT that each float represents a holiday tradition or holiday meal in other countries, such as a gingerbread house or a kiss under the mistletoe.
Tickets for the parade are already on sale, but there are also several free viewing areas along the route where you can bring your own chair. Ticket prices range from $15 to $40, and children 2 and younger do not need a ticket.
Attention parents – strollers and carriers are not allowed at the event.
