  • To celebrate its 25th anniversary last year, Jones Soda Co.
  • The company offered it again this year for a limited time, and I tried to trick my family.
  • Although my kid liked it, I didn’t think the flavor was strong enough – it was just gimmicky.

Last year, Jones Soda Co. introduced and Turkey & Gravy Soda to “celebrate” its 25th anniversary. This year they brought back the meatless gravy just in time for Thanksgiving, and said their fans are crying. I love Jones’ soda and love a good food polish, so I wasn’t going to let this one go without trying it.

You’ll be disappointed if you’re expecting crackers and grits in soda form. Instead, it’s a gimmick that’s well-loved by junkies and die-hard Jones Soda fans alike. Still, it’s not terrible. Here’s what my family thinks.

My 8-year-old loved it and finished the bottle.

We hid the identity of the strange soda and made sure the camera was rolling while they tried it. Surprisingly, a little sad, they liked it. They said it tasted like orange soda. Even though we told them it was turkey and turkey, they insisted on finishing the bottle.

But my wife hated it and only had two drinks.

My wife really enjoyed the turkey and turkey, her favorite foods. He did not like it in the form of water, carbohydrates, especially when the taste of his pulse returned.

I couldn’t taste the turkey or turkey, but the aftertaste was strong.

Orange and brown sugar are my favorite, but turkey and turkey are a different story.

Soda pairs well with rye whiskey.

I’ve been immersed in whiskey and bottle culture for months, so I couldn’t resist mixing the rest of my soda with Old Forester rye: two parts soda to one part whiskey. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. Balanced, sweet and spicy. I offer this cocktail to guests, although most are surprised when they ask about the mix.

Jones Turkey and Gravy Soda lists salt as a secondary ingredient.

One bottle contains 240mg of sodium, but the drink does not taste salty. Instead, the artificial sweetener from sucralose takes center stage. Zero calories and vegan if you want to play a joke on a vegetarian guest.

The bottom line

Jones Soda’s Turkey & Gravy Soda is a gimmick. They use the clever technique of producing something so disgusting-taken that people can’t help but share it on social media. The trade-in worked for me, but after trying it out, I just bought this as a bonus.

If you enjoy or try different foods, then pick up soda while you can (supplies are limited). But, if you’re looking for a sweet drink or a drink that tastes like turkey and turkey, you’re going to be disappointed.
