Ford F-150 Lightning the pickup has been having problems lately, especially how towing affects the range. If towing is paramount to you, but you’re interested in electric vehicles, then the F-150 Lightning at Legoland, Florida might just do the trick.
The F-150 Lightning from Legoland’s brick park has become a permanent display outside the park’s Ford Driving School attraction. It was built in collaboration between Legoland Florida Resort and the Southern Ford Dealer Group to commemorate Ford’s EV truck test. A group of 15 model builders (yes, they exist) spent more than 1,600 hours assembling 320,740 Lego bricks to form the lightning bolt, which is more than 19 feet long and nearly seven feet in diameter.
The entire structure weighs 3,730 pounds, which is about 3,000 lighter than the real thing. This is due to the use of special lightweight Lego batteries. The front and rear lights even work! Visit here to watch a video of the construction, one brick at a time.
The F-150 Lightning joins the Ford Explorer, which was built just over 10 years ago, though the Lightning is Legoland’s first EV.
