SBI WhatsApp facility: Touted as a ‘seamless’ service by SBI, the feature will allow pensioners to claim their pension estate from the comfort of their homes by sending ‘Hi’ to a mobile number on WhatsApp.

State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a WhatsApp facility through which senior citizens can claim their pension benefits. This feature allows pensioners to get their pension minute from the comfort of their home by sending ‘Hello’ to a mobile number on WhatsApp.

Here is how to use SBI WhatsApp service

Step 1: Send ‘Hello’ to +91 9022690226 on WhatsApp.

Step 2: You will receive a message asking you to choose from Balance Enquiry, Mini Statement, and Pension Fund.

Step 3: Select the Pension Slip option and mention the month you want it. You will now see this message: “Please wait while we receive your Pension details.”

Account holders can also check their account balance and get small statement on WhatsApp. However, users have to opt for SBI WhatsApp Banking by sending ‘WARG’ and bank account number to 7208933148.

After completing the registration process, individuals will receive a message from SBI on WhatsApp.

Here is how to register for the same:

Step 1: Send an SMS to 7208933148 with the text ‘WARG’ and your account number with a space between them. The SMS should be sent to your registered mobile number with SBI account.

Step 2: After completing the registration process, you will receive a message from SBI number 90226 90226 on your WhatsApp number.

Step 3: Alternatively, you can simply text ‘Hello SBI’ to 90226 90226 or reply to the WhatsApp message you just received and follow the instructions to avail SBI services.

The bank account holder can avail services like account balance, small statement, and registration from WhatsApp banking.
