New Delhi: Joint Entrance Examination Main 2023, an engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency, the application process will begin in November and the exams are likely to be held in January and April.
Joint Entrance Examination – Main, formerly All India Engineering Entrance Examination, is the Indian standard computer-based examination for admission to various technical degree programs in engineering, architecture and planning across colleges in India.
The exams for the same will be held in two sessions, session 1 will be held in January and the other in April 2023, according to various reports.
For registration, candidates can fill the forms through the official website jemain.nta.nic.in by the third week of November.
As per JEE admission rules, the best marks obtained by the candidates in any of the two sessions will be considered for calculating the ranks.
While the first session of candidates closes in January, the application forms for the second session will be released two months later in March. However, candidates can opt for one session of both.
The pre-pandemic academic calendar is expected to resume this year as four attempts were made in 2021 and exams were delayed in 2022. NEET and CUET applicants should follow the same instructions.
One section of JEE Main will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and the other section will have questions that require answers to be filled in as a numerical value.
In the first section, one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Section B consists of ten questions sand students have to attempt five questions and the section will not have negative marking as in the previous section.
A total of 10,26,799 students registered for JEE Mains this year out of 9,05,590 candidates including 2,57,031 female candidates and 6,48,555 male candidates.
Meanwhile, UGC Chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar told Free Press Journal that the JEE Main 2023 closing dates will be announced soon.
“We are in the process of announcing the dates soon. No comment can be made at this juncture,” said Jagadish.
