Rose Bowl hosts CIF Southern Section Ford Division 1 football championship Friday – Pasadena Now | Rare Techy

Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana and St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower will compete for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) South Ford Division 1 Football Championship on Friday, Nov. 25 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. -outside is at 19:30
This is the first time in 78 years that the Rose Bowl has hosted the CIF Southern Section Championship.
“We are excited to partner with the historic national landmark that is the Rose Bowl this November,” said CIF-SS Athletics Commissioner Rob Wigod. “We look forward to bringing the nation’s best high school football to Pasadena and America’s Stadium to celebrate the 100th anniversary of this iconic venue.”
Fans can enjoy the game from the Rose Bowl’s Terry Donahue Pavilion, which includes access to complimentary food and non-alcoholic beverages, air-conditioned lounges, extra-wide and padded seats.
A limited number of Club seats, Loge Boxes and Luxury Suites are available.
The Rose Bowl has hosted just three CIF-SS football championship games in its 100-year history. It was the site of the 1935 and 1936 championships. The last time the CIF-SS championship game was played was 1944, when the undefeated Mark Keppel High School Aztecs defeated the lower-division Lancers of Pasadena Junior College, 19-13, to finish the season 8-0.
