Saints DE Peyton Turner had negative X-rays and underwent further tests | Rare Techy
#saints One of their younger players, DE Peyton Turner, had an X-ray negative on his ankle, sources said. The injury — just a sprained ankle — came after a key short-yardage stop. But today he has an MRI

This is good news, although it is not time to celebrate. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports New Orleans Saints defensive end Peyton Turner left Sunday’s win against the Los Angeles Rams on the trainer’s cart and returned negative X-rays on his injured ankle. That suggests Turner has avoided broken bones, but he will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the outlook for the injury.
So refrain from any sighs of relief. Even if Turner does sprain his ankle, it could keep him out for weeks — or longer, depending on the severity. It is an unfortunate situation for the youngster. Turner was injured after leading the charge on a fourth-down stop against the Rams offense, when a Rams player fell on his leg while pulling himself off the pile to walk after the game ended.
He had done nothing wrong and there was nothing he could have done to prevent it. It’s impossible to prepare for something like that, but this kind of misfortune defines the Saints’ injury situation this year. They suffered broken bones and bruised internal organs throughout the year. It was as frustrating an experience as you can imagine.
