SBI USMNT Man of the Match: Tyler Adams | Rare Techy

[ad_1]
United States men’s national team midfielder Tyler Adams has been awarded the captain’s armband ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and the 23-year-old certainly led by example in Monday’s Group B opener.
Adams lasted 90 minutes from his midfield position, earning SBI Man of the Match honors. The Leeds United player ran tirelessly around the pitch in the USMNT’s 1-1 draw with Wales, helping the Americans earn a point in their first World Cup match in eight years.
Adams covers a lot of ground on both sides of the field with Weston McKennie and Yunus Musah up front in the USMNT backline. Adams finished five of six challenges, won eight of 12 duels, and completed 90% of his passes in his first World Cup appearance.
While Wales struggled to find a winner after Gareth Bale equalized in the 82nd minute, Adams saved several counter-attacking chances to keep the Americans level in the dying moments. The USMNT stayed one point ahead of Robert Page’s side, setting up an interesting showdown with England on Friday.
Adams beat Christian Pulisic, Tim Weah, and Tim Ream for the SBI USMNT Man of the Match award.
What did you think of Adams’ performance? Which other USMNT players impressed you on the show?
