Social media reacts to Jaylan Ford being chastised by Big 12 coaches | Rare Techy

[ad_1]
Jaylan Ford had a a historically great season at linebacker. Apparently not every voter in the entire conference noticed.
Ford was not selected as a top 12 defensive player for the 2022 season. The talented quarterback topped several statistical categories, as we noted earlier this week.
The first-year starter finished second in the conference in tackles (108), second in interceptions (4) and first in forced fumbles (3). His versatile performance didn’t faze Big 12 coaches over Felix Anudike-Uzomah’s 7.5 sacks.
For context, Barryn Sorrell had 5.5 sacks and was not named to the first or second teams, which is a tip in itself. It was another of many instances where Texas players didn’t get due credit.
As you can imagine, the news caused a stir on social media. That’s how those who watch the team took the news.
What else could Ford have done?
Jaylan Ford wasn’t even a consensus All First Team LB despite having one of the best statistical seasons in the top 12 of the past two decades. I hope Sark gets really petty with his votes next year. Just burn them all on random players.

A close call
Jaylan Ford had…
57 SOLO Tackles (31 more than DPOY)
52 AST solves (39 more than DPOY)
109 TOT Tackles (70 more than DPOY)
4 interceptions (4 more than DPOY)
3 forced FUMB (1 more than DPOY)
2 RECOV FUMB (2 more than DPOY)I hate it here. #ThisIsTexas #HookEm 🤘🏽 https://t.co/R8GiBR0QPg

Don’t confuse them with facts
So you tell me @Big12Conference that the player with 70 more combined tackles, 1 more TDL, 4 more INTs, 1 more PBU, 1 more forced fumble and 2 more fumbles (Jaylan Ford) is worth less DPOY than Felix Anudike – Uzomah?

Must be copy and pasted from preseason
You want to know why the Big 12 coaches chose Kansas State DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah as the Big 12 DPOY over Texas LB Jaylan Ford. Anuduke-Uzomah did have 7.5 sacks to lead the Big 12, but Ford had the same number of TFLs (10), forced another fumble and held a 4-0 advantage in INTs.

If you have to start with his preseason prediction…
K-State DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah was a preseason pick for DPOY, so he’s a legit stud. But 2.5 of his Big 12-best 7.5 sacks came in non-conference play and another 3 came against Tech. Jaylan Ford won his 3 DPOW awards after 12 big games and was top 5 in tackles and sacks. #HookEm pic.twitter.com/AXzId4kgn0

While you’re apologizing
Here’s what gets me even more.
If anyone other than Jaylan Ford won Big 12 DPOY, it was Texas Tech LB Tyree Wilson.Wilson: 61 tackles, 14 TFL, 7 sacks, 1 FF, 1 FR in 10 games
Anudike-Uzomah: 39 tackles, 10 TFL, 7.5 sacks, 2 FF in 12 games
Everything. https://t.co/B39nm5FB2m

Must win too many player of the week awards
Come on man, Felix was consistently dominant, had 4 INTs and had the most 3 wins in DPOW…oops sorry I read the wrong stat that was Jaylan Ford

Can Bijan take on Doak Walker for the SEC?
Lol the Big 12 sniffed Bijan and Jaylan. They have been on a personal vendetta since we announced we were going to the SEC. But when Bijan wins Doak, they are the first to celebrate. Terrible conference @Big12Conference
