EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women’s basketball team will host its annual Education Day game at Chicago State’s Ford Center on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. for the first time of the regular season.
Evansville and Chicago State will meet for the ninth time in series history, and the Aces have swept all eight previous meetings. The Aces and Cougars were scheduled to meet last season on December 19, 2021 in Chicago, but the game was canceled due to COVID-19. The last time UE and CSU met was on December 18, 2019 at Meeks Family Fieldhouse when the Aces won 76-42.
Evansville’s 89-81 win over EKU last Monday night was UE’s first road win in a season opener since Nov. 9, 2012, when it beat Ball State 54-45. Fifth-year guard Myia Clark was on fire last Monday at EKU. St. Louis native finished with 25 points, tying the program record for most 3-pointers made in a single game with eight, going 8-for-9 from beyond the arc in the win. Newcomer Barbora Tomancova has impressed in her first two games in the white and purple. Tomancova had 16 points and 15 rebounds against EKU and added 11 points and four rebounds at No. 4 Iowa on Thursday night.
Wednesday’s game will feature over 2,000 school children from the tri-state area for a game full of educational activities and fun. Fans interested in attending Wednesday’s matinee can purchase $5 tickets at the Ford Center box office on Wednesday.
