As the snow fell on Petoskey Northmen Field, the Ubly Bearcats ran with great football success in Week 13. The Bearcats advance to their second Division 8 state final in the last two calendar years.
Ubly 41, Iron Mountain 14
Mark Heilig rushed for 203 yards and three touchdowns for the Bearcats. He also recorded two tackles and three assists on defense while grabbing an interception. Aiden Mackowiak rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns. He also recorded six tackles and seven assists on defense.
Seth Maurer rushed for 33 yards. He also recorded three tackles and one assist on defense. Jace Susalla rushed for 21 yards. Caden Osantowski rushed for nine yards. He also recorded two tackles and one assist on defense. Evan Peruski rushed for seven yards. He had seven tackles and four assists on defense.
Canden Peruski had seven hits and seven assists on defense. Brett Mueller made five of six extra point attempts. Luke Volmering had two hits and two assists in defense. Chris Oswald had one shot. Ryan Learman had one shot. Skyler Smith had one hit. Logan Volmering had three hits and three assists. Parker Peruski had three hits and Mitchell Foote had one hit and one assist.
The Bearcats advance to the MHSAA Division 8 state finals and will next face Ottawa Lake Whiteford. The game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 25 at 10 a.m. at Ford Field in Detroit. The game will be broadcast by Bally Sports Detroit.
