Yellowstone fans get an official look at another chapter in the Dutton family story.


Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren gave viewers a new look at their characters Jacob and Cara Dutton when Paramount+ dropped the first trailer for the film. in 1923a Yellowstone origin story on Sunday’s episode of the Paramount Network’s senior series.


Following another generation of Duttons in the titular year, the spin-off takes place “at the turn of the twentieth century, when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression plague the mountain West and the Duttons who call it home,” according to the Paramount+ synopsis.




The trailer also features Timothy Dalton as Donald Whitfield, the wealthy new neighbor who introduces himself to Cara. “Well, this is Yellowstone and you have no rights here,” she tells him as she loads the shotgun.

in 1923 teases a mix of opulent period-appropriate decadence and the raucous western lifestyle of the period as Jacob prepares for “range warfare” with Donald and the others.


The show also stars Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Aminah Nieves and Jerome Flynn.

in 1923 follows last year’s 1883, Yellowstone prequel, which starred real-life couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as James and Margaret Dutton, and followed their story as they traveled to Montana.


in 1923 premieres December 18th on Paramount+ and the Paramount Network in a special simulcast event.
