Two Edsel Ford volleyball players earn All-Downriver League honors – Press and Guide | Rare Techy

The Downriver League recently released its all-league honor roll for the 2022 volleyball season.
This year, Edsel Ford was in third place in the final league standings. The Thunderbirds had a 6-4 league record and were playing in the upper bracket of the position circle.
Edsel had two players earn all-league honors this season in senior Breanna Diktarewicz and junior Ava Steinhebel. Overall, the Thunderbirds tied for the most honorees with Allen Park, while Woodhaven led with three.

Woodhaven won its second straight league title and posted a perfect 10-0 record against league opponents for the second year in a row. Seniors Alaina Craig, Julia Downey and Brooke Hart were named all-league for the Warriors.
Allen Park finished second in the final league standings at 8-2 and had two players named to the league this year. Senior duo Alana Hardin and Emma Ramey were recognized for the Jaguars.
Fourth in the league standings was Trenton, which posted a 6-4 record against DRL foes and finished in the middle bracket of the position circle. Junior Molly Edmunds earned all-league honors for the Trojans.
Wyandotte Roosevelt finished fifth this season and finished with a 5-5 record against DRL opponents. The Bears’ 2022 all-league selection was junior Hannah Havilcsek.
Gibraltar Carlson went 4-6 in league play and finished the 2022 campaign sixth in the DRL standings. The Marauders’ 2022 All-League honoree was freshman Emma Ferguson.
Taylor High finished seventh in the league at 4-6 and was ranked third in the standings. Senior Alyssa Williamson earned all-league honors for the Griffins.
Southgate Anderson and Lincoln Park finished eighth in the DRL, each finishing 1-9 against league opponents.
Anderson’s All-League selection this year was senior Megan Peavler and the Railsplitters’ Treasure Ross.
