UPTET is a state-level eligibility test conducted by the UP Board of Basic Education to check the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers at primary and upper primary levels in various schools of the state. Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria is one of the important points that should not be overlooked while submitting the application. Prospective candidates must go through the eligibility requirements before applying. Candidates found ineligible at any stage will be disqualified from the recruitment process. Nativity

• Applicants must be Indian citizens. However, applicants from Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet are also eligible for UPTET 2023.

Age criteria

• Applicants should be minimum 18 years and upper age limit should be 35 years.

Educational criteria

Educational qualification criteria for primary and upper primary teachers will be different as there are two papers.

For Primary Teachers (Paper I)-

• Applicants must possess a degree in any subject from a recognized university or college.

or

• They should have done BTCT from an institute recognized by National Teacher Education Council Uttar Pradesh.
• They should have obtained National Teacher Education Board qualification from a recognized institution.

or

• Must have completed two years Diploma in Education from Rehabilitation Council of India.

or

• Must have done B.Tech from a recognized university affiliated to UGC or Uttar Pradesh Rashtriya Teacher Education Office.

or

• They should have completed graduation from University / College affiliated to UGC and BTC Urdu Training from Uttar Pradesh.

For Upper Primary (Paper-II)

• They must have completed graduation and must have passed or attended the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

or

• They must have graduated with at least 50% marks and must have passed or attended first year of Bachelor in Education (BEd).

or

• They must have completed graduation with minimum 45% marks and passed or appeared 1^St year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) as per NCTE.

or

• They should have completed Senior Secondary/Class 12^th
  At least with 50% marks and have passed or attended the final year of B.L.Ed. (4 year programme)

or

• Senior Secondary/ Class 12^th At least with 50% marks And must have passed or appeared in final year of 4 year B.Sc.Ed/ BA or BAEd/B.Sc.Ed.

UPTET 2023 Application Form

• Applications can be filled through UPTET 2023 online mode only.
• No printed application forms will be provided.
• Applications should be submitted only through online mode within the notified schedule.
• Applicants should not submit hard copy of application as offline applications will not be considered by the conducting authority.
• All the documents are uploaded in the format specified by the board.
• Applicants should ensure that all the details are filled in the application form carefully.
• If there is any mistake in the application form, the candidates should make the correction within the given time schedule.

UPTET 2023 Selection Procedure

Candidates are first selected on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination. Final selection of candidates will be at the discretion of the school/institution to which the candidates have applied.

UPTET Eligibility Certificate will be issued to those who qualify the exam. Candidates must secure minimum 60% marks (55% reserved category) in the exam to qualify the exam. Eligibility certificate will be valid for 5 years and within this period the candidate can apply for employment based on it.

Candidates will get certificates from the concerned department of the district. They should note that issuing a certificate does not confirm their work. Final appointment to the teaching post will be based on the recruitment policy of the respective school/board.

If candidates fail to qualify the exam, they can apply as there is no restriction on the number of attempts.
