101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios are currently in talks with the cast to return for a second season. It was also revealed that Sheridan is considering two more Yellowstone prequels spanning the Dutton generations in the 1940s and 1960s.

Ford and Mirren lead a large ensemble that introduces Yellowstone fans for many more Duttons, plus their friends and foes.
Jacob’s right-hand man is his eldest nephew, John Dutton Sr., played by James Badge Dale, who is married to his dutiful wife, Emma Marley Shelton. Their son Jack, who is also Jacob’s great-grandson, is played by Darren Mann. He is described as a “devoted rancher who is deeply loyal to his family.” Brandon Sklenar plays Spencer Dutton, Jacob’s nephew and John’s older brother.
According to Deadline, Jerome Flynn, who played Tyrion Lannister’s bodyguard and sword Ser Bronn in Blackwater, has been cast. Game of Thrones – stars as Banner Creighton, “a hard-headed Scottish brogut and leader of the local shepherds.”
Terminator 2 star Robert Patrick portrays Sheriff William McDowell, a friend of the Dutton family. Sebastian Roché has also been announced as part of it in 1923 cast, but details of his character have not been released.
